Kazakhstan and 2 others join Indonesia Bebas Visa Kunjungan list

Indonesia's Visa-Free Visit list jumped from three countries to six on July 9, 2026, adding Kazakhstan, Macau SAR and Belarus to the Brazil, Türkiye and Peru cohort already granted visa-free entry in 2025.

What changed on July 9

Minister of Immigration and Corrections Regulation No. 10 of 2026, issued July 7 and effective two days later, replaced the 2025 version of the same regulation. The previous rule, in force since Aug. 12, 2025, covered only Brazil, Peru and Türkiye. The new text keeps those three and adds passport holders from Kazakhstan, Macau SAR and Belarus to the Bebas Visa Kunjungan (BVK) scheme.

Eligible travelers now enter without applying for a visa in advance, get processed at immigration on arrival and receive up to 30 days of stay. The 30-day permit can't be extended and can't be converted to another visa inside Indonesia, so anyone planning a longer stint has to leave and re-enter on a different permit.

Who's covered and who isn't

BVK is a tourism and short-business facility. Permitted purposes include tourism, family visits, cultural activities, business meetings, seminars, exhibitions, government business, transit and medical treatment. Work and any income-generating activity remain off-limits, which means remote workers from the six added jurisdictions can use the 30 days for a scouting trip or short visit but not as a compliant base for ongoing client work. Expats already on KITAS or KITAP permits see no change.

Kazakh, Belarusian and Macau SAR travelers arriving from July 9 onward need a passport valid at least six months from entry, one blank page and proof of return or onward travel. There's no visa fee. That's a separate track from Visa on Arrival, which still carries a charge and covers a different list of nationalities.

What holders of existing plans should check

Anyone from the six countries who already paid for an e-Visa or Visa on Arrival for travel after July 9 is now paying for something they don't need for a stay under 30 days. Check the trip length before departure and cancel the paid application if the visit fits inside the visa-free window. Travelers also need to enter through a designated immigration checkpoint, which matters for anyone planning an overland arrival from Malaysia or Timor-Leste rather than a major airport.
