Sun PhuQuoc Airways launches daily Singapore route to Vietnam on July 25

Sun PhuQuoc Airways opens daily Singapore route

Sun PhuQuoc Airways will fly the first full-service daily route between Singapore Changi and Phu Quoc International Airport starting July 25, with tickets on sale since May 20. The carrier will operate one round-trip daily: SIN to PQC departing 2:20 p.m. and arriving 3:05 p.m., with the return leaving Phu Quoc at 10:35 a.m. and landing at 1:20 p.m.

Launch promotional fares start around 133 Singapore dollars ($98) one-way, with both economy and business class on offer. Checked baggage and meals are included on most fare types. Budget rival Vietjet has operated four weekly flights on the same sector since May 2025.

Who gains from the new link

Remote workers using Singapore as a regional hub get a daily, sub-two-hour option to Phu Quoc that pairs with the island's 30-day visa-free scheme under Decision No. 80/2013/QD-TTg. The exemption applies only to Phu Quoc, so travelers planning to add mainland Vietnam still need a standard visa or e-visa.

Long-haul arrivals from Europe, Australia or North America can connect through Changi and enter Phu Quoc directly under the exemption, provided they meet the conditions. Families and divers carrying gear benefit from the included baggage allowance that low-cost competitors charge extra for.

Conditions for the 30-day exemption

To qualify for visa-free entry, travelers must arrive at Phu Quoc directly from abroad or transit through a Vietnamese international airport without clearing immigration before flying onward to the island. Phu Quoc must be the stated final destination and the onward flight or ship must leave Vietnam from Phu Quoc to a foreign country, not the mainland.

Other requirements:

  • Passport valid at least six months from arrival
  • Return or onward ticket out of Phu Quoc within 30 days
  • No prior deportation or serious immigration violations in Vietnam
  • No listing on international wanted notices

The exemption carries no visa fee. Anyone planning to stay beyond 30 days or visit Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi or other mainland destinations needs a paid visa arranged in advance.
