Indonesia drops vaccine rules for e-VoA and B211A travelers

Entry rules are now vaccine-free

Indonesia no longer asks international arrivals to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and the rule remains off the books in 2026. Immigration guidance now focuses on passport validity, visa status and arrival paperwork, not vaccine checks.

The change has been in place since June 2023 and applies across common entry paths, including visa-free access for some ASEAN travelers, e-VoA and longer-stay options such as B211A. No COVID tests or quarantine are required for entry.

Who benefits at the border

Tourists, expats and remote workers all avoid vaccine screening on arrival. That matters most for nomads using the e-VoA or B211A, plus longer-stay holders under the remote-worker route, since unvaccinated travelers face no barrier on that point.

Indonesia still checks other basics. Travelers need a passport valid for 6 months with 2 blank pages and officials may ask for onward or return tickets. The policy is simple, but the rest of the entry stack still matters.

What travelers still need to file

The main pre-arrival step is now the SatuSehat app, which handles arrival cards, health and customs declarations. Travelers must complete it 3 days before arrival and the platform became mandatory in Sept. 2025.

e-VoA applications run through the official immigration website and cost IDR 500,000 or about $35.
