Mongolia’s visa-free list keeps expanding

Mongolia now grants visa-free entry to ordinary passport holders from the United Arab Emirates, Maldives, Paraguay, Vietnam, Tajikistan and Colombia. The additions took effect between Dec. 28, 2023 and Jan. 26, 2026 and most of the new entries allow stays of 30 days.
The country also keeps its separate temporary 34-country visa-free program in place through Dec. 31, 2026. That list mainly covers European countries, plus Australia and New Zealand, for tourism stays of up to 30 days.
Who the change covers
The new access is aimed mainly at tourists, though short business visits can fit within the same stay limits. Paraguay and Colombia get the longest allowance in the recent additions, with stays of up to 90 days under ordinary passports.
Digital nomads and longer-term expats still face the same limits. The visa-free rules cover short visits only and anyone staying longer needs a separate visa or extension.
What travelers still need to do
A valid passport with at least 6 months left beyond the stay is required. Travelers must register online with the Immigration Agency within 48 hours of arrival and hotels can handle that step too.
There’s no entry fee for visa-free travel, but overstays can bring fines at exit. Travelers from countries not on the visa-free lists can still use Mongolia’s e-visa system through the government website and visa updates continue to track changes like this.
