American Airlines runs nonstop Prague to Philadelphia flights through Oct. 5

What the Prague-Philadelphia route covers

American Airlines is operating its daily seasonal nonstop between Prague (PRG) and Philadelphia (PHL) through Oct. 5, with service that began May 21. The route runs on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with business, premium economy and economy cabins and American is the only carrier flying the city pair nonstop.

Philadelphia functions as a major American Airlines hub, giving Prague passengers same-day one-stop access to more than 100 destinations across the U.S., Canada and Latin America on a single ticket.

Published schedules show PHL departures in the early evening arriving in Prague the next morning and PRG departures late morning arriving in Philadelphia early afternoon. American and Prague Airport both note times are subject to change.

Who gets the most out of it

The flight gives Prague-based expats and remote workers a second direct North American link alongside Delta's Prague-New York service, cutting out European connections for U.S. trips. Americans living in Czechia gain a direct East Coast gateway, while Czech travelers pick up onward AA connections beyond PHL on one itinerary.

The 787-8 sector also earns and redeems AAdvantage and oneworld miles, relevant for frequent flyers building status on transatlantic routes. Business travelers with U.S.-Czech operations gain a corporate corridor that supports negotiated fares.

The route is part of American's broader 2026 European expansion from Philadelphia, which also adds seasonal service to Budapest, plus Athens and Zurich from Dallas-Fort Worth.

What travelers need before booking

Czech citizens flying to the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program need an approved ESTA before boarding. Travelers outside the program need a valid U.S. visa. American recommends arriving at the airport at least three hours before international departure.

U.S. citizens entering Czechia need a passport valid for the length of stay. The U.S. State Department's Czechia advisory flags pickpocketing in Prague tourist areas and on public transport, but rates the country generally safe.
