Zhejiang expands 144-hour visa-free transit to all 6 international ports in China

Zhejiang’s airport network now runs on one transit rule

Zhejiang now lets eligible international transit passengers use the 240-hour visa-free transit program at all six of its international ports, including Hangzhou Xiaoshan, Ningbo Lishe and Wenzhou Longwan. The province said on May 6 it became the first in China to extend the policy across every one of its international airports and seaports.

The province’s digital services sit alongside that change. Verified foreigners can use Zheliban for online access to healthcare, tax and vehicle services, while Zhejiang Travel links immigration data with customs clearance, hotel check-in, payments and transport through a single travel code.

Who can use the system

The transit policy covers passport holders from 55 countries, including Indonesia, Russia and the United Kingdom. It applies to tourists, business visitors, digital nomads and international executives who have a ticket to a third country or region and stay within the 240-hour limit.

Business travelers can file group-visa applications online and bulk-register hotels for delegations, according to Zhejiang officials. The province has also authorized 25 county-level immigration service points for visa renewals, accommodation registration and work-permit guidance, more than any other province.

What travelers should line up first

Travelers still need onward travel and a stay that fits the 10-day limit. Zhejiang’s system is built to speed entry, but it doesn’t remove the basic transit rules that still govern the visit. For broader trip planning, check our visa updates and keep the permitted regions in mind if you plan to move between cities.

Those arriving through other Chinese cities can use high-speed rail into Zhejiang, including trips to Yiwu and Wenzhou, if they remain within the transit window. Read our full China guide for the complete picture.
