Thailand Privilege applicants can add eligible family members for 750,000 baht (about $23,000) each under a promotion covering the program’s three longest visa tiers.

Family pricing runs through Aug. 14

The Next Membership Promotion, available since May 18, covers spouses, children and parents added to Platinum, Diamond or Reserve memberships. Applications must be submitted by Aug. 14.

The promotional fee replaces the standard charge for each added family member:

• Platinum: 10-year visa, normally 1 million baht (about $31,000) per Next Member
• Diamond: 15-year visa, normally 1.5 million baht (about $46,000) per Next Member
• Reserve: 20-year visa, normally 2 million baht (about $62,000) per Next Member

Thailand Privilege Card Co. Ltd., a state-owned company under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, operates the membership program. Applications can be filed through the company or a government-authorized sales and services agent.

Bronze remains available until Sept. 30

The lower-cost Bronze membership remains on sale through Sept. 30. It costs 650,000 baht (about $20,000) and provides a five-year visa, but it isn’t included in the current discounted family campaign.

Despite some marketing descriptions, Thailand Privilege hasn’t granted a universal two-year extension across its memberships. The current offers concern discounted family additions and the extended availability of Bronze, while the underlying visa periods remain five, 10, 15 or 20 years.

Long stays, but no work permit

The program is best suited to retirees, long-stay expats and higher-income remote workers who want multiple-entry access without relying on annual renewals or repeated tourist stays. Applicants comparing it with other options for moving to Thailand should weigh the upfront membership fee against the length of access required.

The catch is employment authorization. A Thailand Privilege visa isn’t a work permit, so membership alone doesn’t authorize work for a Thai employer. Remote workers using it for long stays receive immigration status and membership services, not separate labor permission.
