Saudi Arabia consolidates tourism and business filing into KSA Visa portal

Saudi Arabia's visa services now run through a single national portal, replacing the fragmented mix of agency-by-agency channels that applicants dealt with before.
One portal in place of dozens of channels
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs consolidated visa issuance onto KSA Visa, a unified platform that links more than 30 government and private entities in one system, per GOV.SA. The Council of Ministers approved the unified national platform on May 17, 2022 and the ministry announced the launch of KSA Visa itself on Nov. 5, 2024.
Before the switch, tourists, pilgrims, business travelers and residents applying for family visits each moved through separate portals and intermediaries, with authorizations bouncing between ministries. KSA Visa pulls those threads into one login covering Hajj, Umrah, tourism and business visas, plus authorizations and application inquiries.
Who the change catches
The platform is the current route for anyone filing a Saudi visa application, including:
- Tourists applying for standard tourism entry
- Pilgrims filing for Hajj or Umrah
- Business travelers, including applicants under the Visitor Investor pathway that the Ministry of Investment and Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened to digital filing in November 2023
- Expats and residents in the Kingdom requesting family visit visas, personal visit visas, return visa extensions and authorizations
- Government and corporate entities issuing visa authorizations
Anyone with a live application or a sponsor account tied to an older channel should confirm their file has migrated to KSA Visa before their next renewal or authorization request, rather than assume prior logins still work. Sponsors handling family visit visas or Visitor Investor filings are the most exposed, because their approvals depend on cross-ministry handoffs the new platform now routes internally.
What the announcement doesn't cover
The official pages describing KSA Visa don't publish a consolidated fee schedule, per-nationality eligibility or step-by-step document lists. Those sit on the live portal itself, not in the launch notice.
There is also no digital nomad visa attached to this rollout. Remote workers eyeing the Kingdom still route through the existing tourism or business categories, now filed through KSA Visa. Anyone planning a longer stay should cross-check category rules against the wider Saudi Arabia residency and entry guide before filing, since the platform standardizes the channel but not the underlying visa rules.
