Royal Air Maroc launches 3 weekly Dreamliner flights from LAX to Morocco

Three weekly Dreamliner flights between LAX and Casablanca
Royal Air Maroc began nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport and Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport on June 7, marking the first direct air link between Africa and the U.S. West Coast. The carrier operates the route three times weekly using Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Westbound flights typically leave Casablanca around 4 a.m. and land in Los Angeles around 8:20 a.m. the same day. Return flights depart LAX around 10:20 a.m. and arrive in Casablanca the following morning. Days of operation generally fall on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, though schedules shift seasonally.
Who benefits from the new link
West Coast travelers heading to Morocco or onward across Africa, Europe and the Middle East can now skip the usual backtrack through New York, Europe or the Gulf. The nonstop cuts travel time between Southern California and North Africa by close to half compared with common one-stop routings, according to Royal Air Maroc.
Moroccan and African diaspora communities across California gain a faster route home. Remote workers using Casablanca as a hub can chain a single ticket through to cities like Dakar or Abidjan, while business travelers picking up Africa-facing contracts gain a direct option from LAX.
The launch coincides with the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, giving international visitors attending Los Angeles matches an easier pairing with a Morocco side trip.
Booking, fares and entry rules
Tickets are sold through Royal Air Maroc's website, travel agencies and online travel platforms. Sample economy round-trip fares from Los Angeles to Casablanca have been advertised starting around $1,300, though pricing varies with season and demand. Fare families differ on checked baggage, seat selection and change flexibility, so the rules should be checked before purchase.
Entry into Morocco remains unchanged by the new route. U.S., Canadian, EU and UK passport holders, among others, can enter visa-free for stays up to 90 days for tourism or business, provided their passport is valid at least six months beyond entry. Longer stays require a proper visa or residence permit; repeated visa-run exits and re-entries aren't a guaranteed strategy.
