Rome2Rio and Omio launch multimodal trip planning tool for nomads inside ChatGPT

Rome2Rio’s ChatGPT app lets travelers search, compare and plan trips across trains, buses, flights and ferries in one conversation. The app uses live data and direct connections to service inventories, so it can return routes, prices, schedules and map views without sending users to separate booking sites. Rome2Rio and Omio said they rolled out the integration on April 12, 2026.
The tool covers more than 10 million locations in 240+ countries and territories. It also surfaces disruption alerts and alternative routes, which makes it useful for longer cross-border trips that combine several transport modes.
Why nomads and other travelers may use it
The app is aimed at people planning complex itineraries, especially digital nomads and international travelers who need door-to-door routing. Rome2Rio said users can now ask for a trip in natural language and get verified options directly in ChatGPT.
The company said the service is free for trip planning and research and doesn't require a separate download. It joins ChatGPT apps from Expedia, Booking.com, Kiwi.com, GetYourGuide, Trainline and BlaBlaCar.
What to do if you want to try it
Open ChatGPT and describe the trip you want to take, including your starting point and destination. The app then returns transport options, live availability and pricing in the chat window.
Rome2Rio says the integration is available to ChatGPT users, so travelers don't need to switch between websites to build an itinerary. Check our country guides for destination-specific details and visa updates for more travel changes.
