For the D8 Digital Nomad Visa, applicants must now show monthly earnings of at least €3,680 (four times the minimum wage). The D7 Passive Income Visa is also affected, requiring a base of €920 per month plus additional amounts for spouses and children.

Spain followed a similar path in February with a 3.1% increase to its minimum wage. This puts the income requirement for the Spanish Digital Nomad Visa at approximately €2,849 per month for a single applicant. Meanwhile, Greece has kept its threshold stable at €3,500 net monthly income, providing a consistent, if higher, benchmark for those looking toward the Mediterranean.

These changes primarily affect long-term residency seekers and digital nomads. Short-term tourists on 90-day Schengen stays are not impacted. If you are bringing family, be prepared for steeper proof-of-funds requirements; most countries add a percentage of the base income for every dependent.
