Business internet reaches rural Costa Rica through new Starlink deal

What the reseller deal covers

Liberty Empresas now has authorization to resell Starlink business internet in rural and remote parts of Costa Rica. The service uses low-Earth orbit satellites to give companies a steadier connection where fixed-line internet has been weak or unavailable, according to Liberty and Starlink.

The rollout builds on Starlink’s Costa Rica presence since 2023 and follows earlier telecom partnerships in the country. A separate mobile direct-to-device service through Liberty is also set to reach users in the second half of 2026, though that plan is aimed at phones rather than dedicated business kits.

Who stands to use it

The offer is aimed first at businesses outside major population centers, including operations in mountains, beach towns and other hard-to-wire areas. That includes remote employers, small firms and expats running companies from places that have often lacked stable high-speed service.

Digital nomads could feel the benefit too, especially in areas where dependable internet has been the main constraint on working long-term outside cities. The change matters most for people who need a fixed installation and a clear sky view for the Starlink kit.

What companies need to know

Business plans start at about $65 a month for lower-data tiers, with higher options reaching $165 a month or more. Hardware can cost roughly $349 to $2,500, depending on the plan. Firms can go through Liberty Empresas for resale or set up service directly through Starlink’s app.
