Brazil fans see 6,000 extra LATAM seats for June and July matches

LATAM’s World Cup schedule adds extra U.S. seats
LATAM Airlines will run four extra long-haul rotations between São Paulo/Guarulhos and the United States during the FIFA World Cup, adding about 6,000 seats. The airline said the flights are timed around Brazil’s match calendar and will use Airbus A350-900 aircraft with 410 seats each.
The extra service includes two nighttime flights to New York during the group stage on June 11 and 12, one Miami rotation on June 21 and three more New York flights from July 19 to 21. LATAM already flies 7 weekly frequencies to JFK, 16 to Miami and also serves Orlando, Boston and Los Angeles.
Travelers seeing the biggest impact
The added capacity will matter most for Brazilian fans heading to matches, corporate teams traveling for sponsorship work and nomads moving between North and South America during peak summer demand. LATAM also expects cargo demand tied to sports marketing, with about 200 tonnes of promotional material set to move on the extra uplift.
Fares are running about 34% above 2025 levels, so the World Cup window is already priced as a peak period. U.S. Customs expects inbound waits of up to 2 hours on match days and that will hit anyone arriving close to a game.
What travelers should sort out now
Passengers should check U.S. entry rules, confirm travel documents are valid and schedule Global Entry appointments early if they qualify. LATAM said one of the added JFK frequencies could become permanent if demand holds, which would leave more seats on the Brazil-U.S. corridor after the tournament.
