Aviate launches global gate predictions for Android travelers July 27

Android travelers can now use Aviate worldwide to predict gates, navigate airport terminals and check whether their assigned aircraft is likely to offer Starlink internet.
Android access went global July 27
Aviate became broadly available through Google Play on July 27 after several months of prerelease testing. The app tracks commercial flights worldwide, sending live updates for gates, terminals, delays, cancellations, departures and landings.
Indoor airport maps provide directions to gates, lounges, restaurants and other amenities, including estimated walking times. That can complement Stamped Nomad’s destination guides when travelers are connecting through unfamiliar hubs.
When an airport hasn’t published a gate, Aviate Pro predicts one using recent gate history for the flight and airport. The app labels estimates as “Predicted,” replaces them when official data arrives and leaves the field blank if there isn’t enough history for a useful estimate.
Starlink checks depend on the assigned aircraft
The Pro-tier Starlink WiFi Checker compares an aircraft’s tail number with fleet data to determine whether Starlink is installed. If the operating aircraft hasn’t been assigned, Aviate instead estimates the likelihood from the airline’s wider Starlink rollout.
Remote workers planning to rely on inflight internet should recheck after the aircraft assignment appears because the earlier result may only reflect a fleet-wide estimate.
Aviate’s route map includes live precipitation radar for spotting rain, snow and storms that may contribute to turbulence or delays. These displays are weather-based forecasts, not official aviation turbulence advisories.
Core tracking remains free
The free tier includes basic flight status, gate updates, trip checklists, calendar sync and home-screen widgets. Travelers can store boarding passes offline with scannable QR and AZTEC barcodes protected by AES-256-GCM encryption.
Other Pro tools include aircraft-position tracking, live air traffic control audio, loyalty-account tracking and Android lock-screen flight updates.
