83 border gates now accept Vietnam e-visa entries after Dec. 2 expansion

Vietnam’s e-visa entry points now cover more ground

Vietnam now lets foreign travelers use 83 designated entry and exit points for e-visas after adding 41 border gates on Dec. 2, 2025. The expanded list includes 4 airports, 11 land borders and 26 seaports, according to the government’s Resolution No. 389/NQ-CP.

The approved gates now include airports such as Vinh and Chu Lai International Airports, with Long Thanh and Gia Binh listed once they’re operational. Land and sea options now stretch farther across the country, including Dong Dang railway in Lang Son, Le Thanh in Gia Lai, Van Gia in Quang Ninh and Nam Can in Ca Mau.

Who the change helps

The broader gate list gives tourists, expats and digital nomads more ways to enter and leave Vietnam without routing through a few major hubs. It matters most for people making visa runs overland to Laos or Cambodia or moving through regional ports and smaller airports.

Vietnam’s e-visa program remains open to citizens of all countries and territories. It still allows stays of up to 90 days with single or multiple entry options.

What travelers need to do

Applicants still need a valid passport, a photo and payment submitted online. Processing usually takes 3 to 7 days and the fee is $25 for single entry or $50 for multiple entry.

Travelers should enter and exit only through one of the approved gates and carry a printed or digital copy of the e-visa. The entry-point list can change once airports open, so it’s worth checking before booking flights, ferries or overland crossings.
