Path to permanent residence: 4 years of continuous residence on an A permit to Yes. The startup permit is a continuous (A) permit. For applications from Jan. 8, 2026: 6 years of A-permit residence with 2 years of work history and B1 Finnish or Swedish, or 4 years with taxable income of at least EUR 40,000 in the latest tax assessment (other 4-year paths exist)
Processing fee, first permit (electronic application): €450 one-time to €650 one-time
Processing fee, first permit (paper application): €580 one-time to €800 one-time
Processing fee, extended permit (electronic application): €170 one-time to €230 one-time
