Lufthansa Returns to Malaysia With Allegris Cabin

Lufthansa is re-establishing a direct link between Europe and Malaysia after a decade-long hiatus. Starting October 25, 2026, the airline will operate five weekly nonstop flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL). This route marks the debut of the Allegris cabin in Southeast Asia, positioning Kuala Lumpur as a primary hub for the airline alongside Bangkok and Singapore.

The service utilizes the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, configured with 287 seats across three classes. Travelers in Business Class will find increased privacy with individual suite doors and direct aisle access. Premium Economy and Economy passengers also benefit from the Allegris upgrades, which include ergonomic seating and modern inflight entertainment systems designed for the 12 to 13-hour journey.

Who it affects

This route is a significant win for digital nomads and expats moving between the EU and Southeast Asia. With over 700 German firms operating in Malaysia and the country seeing record-breaking tourism numbers, the nonstop connection eliminates the need for exhausting layovers in the Middle East or Singapore. Remote workers can now fly directly into a top-tier nomad hub while enjoying the latest nomad news regarding premium air travel.

Bookings are currently open for the inaugural season. If you are planning a scouting trip or a relocation for late 2026, keep these details in mind:
