Irish citizens applying for entry to Pakistan now face updated euro-denominated rates starting at €34 ($37) for standard single-entry tourist stays, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Sept. 4.

The revised policy establishes specific euro pricing across tourist, commercial and transit tiers, formalizing new rates for Ireland:

• Single-entry tourist visa (up to 90 days): €34 ($37)

• Multiple-entry tourist visa (up to one year): €50 ($54)

• Multiple-entry tourist visa (more than one year): €65 ($70)

• Single-entry work or business visa (up to 90 days): €95 ($103)

• Multiple-entry work or business visa (up to one year): €145 ($157)

• Multiple-entry work or business visa (more than one year): €190 ($205)

• Single-entry transit visa: €17 ($18)

Budget impact and online processing rules

For remote workers planning a temporary base, opting for the one-year multiple-entry tourist permit costs €50 ($54), which averages out to roughly €4.15 ($4.50) per month across a year-long travel schedule. Those securing long-term commercial access will pay €190 ($205) upfront for multi-year entry.

All applications must go through the Pakistan Online Visa System before departure. Standard tourist visas take seven to 10 working days to process, while multi-entry and work permits take up to four weeks. Passports must hold at least six months of validity upon application.

Overstay surcharges apply after a 14-day grace period, starting at $50 for stays exceeding two weeks and reaching $400 for stays up to one year. Remote workers should monitor Pakistan's visa rules and file extensions through the online portal before their entry permissions expire.
