Flydubai's daily Dubai,Pokhara service starts Sept. 23, giving travelers the first direct link between the UAE and central Nepal without a Kathmandu transfer.
What the route looks like at the airport
Flights depart Dubai International's Terminal 3 as FZ 1165 at noon, landing at Pokhara International Airport at 6:15 p.m. local time. The return FZ 1166 leaves Pokhara at 7:15 p.m. and arrives back in Dubai at 10 p.m.
The route runs as a codeshare with Emirates, so passengers connecting from the wider Emirates network get a single ticket and through-checked baggage to Pokhara, the airline said. That matters for anyone flying in from Europe, North America or Africa who previously had to clear bags in Kathmandu and rebook onto a domestic hop across the country.
Bookings are already open through flydubai's website, app, UAE contact center and travel partners. Return Economy Lite fares start at AED 1,900 from Dubai and NPR 91,000 from Pokhara, with Business Class from AED 5,000 and NPR 190,000.
Entry mechanics for travelers arriving in Pokhara
Nothing changes on the immigration side. Nepal's standard visa-on-arrival rules apply at Pokhara International Airport and no special entry fee or route-specific requirement is attached to the flydubai service. Most nationalities can get a tourist visa on arrival for 15, 30 or 90 days, paid in cash in major currencies.
Pokhara is the gateway to the Annapurna region and western Nepal and the direct flight cuts out the domestic Kathmandu-to-Pokhara leg that has long been the weak point of the trip, both for cost and for weather cancellations. Trekkers heading to Annapurna Base Camp or Mustang can now land within a short drive of the trailhead permit offices rather than losing a day in Kathmandu.
The route is only the second scheduled international service from Pokhara since the airport opened in January 2023.
