Chinese travelers can skip Cambodia visa fees and 14 day stay limits until Oct. 15

How the four-month visa waiver works
Cambodia waived visa fees and applications for Chinese passport holders under a four-month pilot running June 15 to Oct. 15, 2026, approved by the Royal Government of Cambodia on Dec. 2, 2025. Eligible travelers can enter multiple times, with each stay capped at 14 days.
The pilot replaces the standard visa process with Cambodia's e-Arrival card, a digital declaration completed before arrival. No visa sticker is issued at the border and the usual $30 to $36 tourist visa fee doesn't apply. There is no monthly quota.
Who can use it
The waiver covers ordinary passport holders from mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, per policy explainers summarizing the government's decision. Taiwan passport holders are excluded. Permitted purposes include tourism, family visits and short business meetings.
Chinese nationals living abroad as expats, students or remote workers qualify so long as they enter for tourism and stay within the 14-day cap per visit. Frequent regional travelers can use the multiple-entry feature to chain short trips through Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville alongside neighboring countries.
Non-Chinese nationals get nothing from this pilot. Other passport holders continue to rely on Cambodia's standard tourist visa, e-visa or existing visa-exemption arrangements. Anyone seeking work, study, residence or stays beyond 14 days at a time still needs the appropriate visa category, including the business "E" type.
What travelers should do
Eligible visitors need three things before boarding:
- A valid ordinary Chinese, Hong Kong or Macao passport with several months of validity remaining
- A completed Cambodia e-Arrival card submitted through the official digital system
- Onward travel plans that keep each Cambodian stay at 14 days or under
At immigration in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville, travelers present the passport and e-Arrival confirmation. Border officers issue an entry stamp valid for up to 14 days. Overstays trigger standard Cambodian immigration penalties, so anyone planning a longer trip should apply for a regular tourist visa instead, which permits 30-day single-entry stays.
The pilot ends Oct. 15, 2026. There has been no announcement of an extension or permanent rollout.
